2024 has been one of the busiest years in Snowy Wings Publishing’s eight-year history, with more books published than any year since the pandemic. This year has also been a stellar year in terms of recognition of our authors and their books, with more awards, starred reviews, and other industry recognition than ever before. So we’d like to take a moment to celebrate our authors’ fantastic achievements this year!
In 2024, we published eighteen books across our two imprints. Two of these books were debuts, five were series starters, eight were series continuations or conclusions, four were stand-alones, and one was an anthology!
Some of the incredible industry recognition our authors and their books received this year included:
Memories of Ash by Intisar Khanani
This second book in the Sunbolt Trilogy picked up a number of accolades this year, including a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and a spot on Kirkus‘ Best YA Fantasy list!
Joythief by Brenda J. Pierson
Published by our sister imprint, Crimson Fox Publishing, in 2023, this year we were excited to see this stand-alone fantasy reach the finals in the Foreword INDIES Awards!
Tracker220 by Jamie Krakover
For the first time, the Indie Author Project Awards were offered nationwide rather than regionally, which meant more authors eligible and higher levels of competition. So it was amazing to see that Tracker220 made the finals in the YA category, one of just three out of thousands of entries!
Fire Heart by Joyce Ch’ng
We were incredibly honored to be chosen to partner with the IBPA and EveryLibrary Institute’s We Are Stronger Than Censorship campaign for Fire Heart by Joyce Ch’ng! This program will enable more readers across the country to have access to these great books.
Playing with #Fire and CRISPR Cris Parr by Micky O’Brady
Micky O’Brady was lucky enough to pick up awards for two of her books this year! CRISPR Cris Parr picked up the silver in the YA category at the American Writing Awards, and Playing with #Fire won silver in the Children’s Legacy category!
The Word Dancer by Maxine Rose Schur
One of our favorite releases of last year, The Word Dancer, won the Northern Lights Book Award in the Middle Grade Fantasy category!
In addition to these awesome accolades, many of our books also received rave reviews from trade publications this year. You can find our full list of reviews here for Snowy Wings and here for Crimson Fox.
Congratulations to all our authors for their awesome achievements!
